On the 26/7/08
We walked down to the Buffalo Bill Parade. We had been told to get there early but so had everybody else as the streets were already packed. But we managed to find a good spot and settled down to watch the parade. It was about 2 hours long with all kinds of floats.
There was a lot of horses in it. At 12pm we went to the wild west show.
There was a shootout where cowboys shot each other, that was my favorite bit. They used real pistols with blanks in them. For Us New Zealanders it was quite amazing to see real guns being carried around in the town. Then Annie Oakley did her tricks. One of her tricks was to shot at a Target while standing backwards and looking though a mirror. Another was to split the bullet on a axe head and shot two balloons. Then a lady did gun twirling and cracked whips. After that there was a juggler and a guy that did amazing things on a horse. A guy shot at a target while standing on his horses back. (His horse was didn't even care) Then they had a shooting computation. Annie Oakley and Buffalo Bill did not win. More horse riding and then that was the end. It was extremely hot there but it was a really neat experience and very enjoyable.
