On the 6/10/07 we went apple picking! With The ICF (international Christian fellowship Friday night). We went at 10.30 to met everyone at the church, Ruth didn’t go! Dad had to full some papers out and then we were off! Our friends Jonathan and Rosie came in our car! We drove for about 2 hours and then we had arrived! The place was packed full of people! We went over to a stall that you could get free Cider
( apple juice) at so we all had some of that, they made it there so it was very fresh Cider. We walked round for a bit and then went on a hay ride we had to wait in line for a while as there was so many people but at lest there was more then one hay ride! The hay ride was just a tuck or tractor pulling a trailer with hay bails on it round and you sit on the bails of hay!! Still quite fun though! Stopped at a field that was covered in pumpkins! Got out and looked at all the pumpkins, there were some really big ones there! You could take them back to the shop and have them weighed and then buy them, but we didn’t as those ones are not that good for eating only in cooking such as pumpkin pies and bread! I think most people were just buying them for carving , not eating them. When we had got back, we went and got a huge apple to eat as you were aloud to eat as many apples as you wanted when you were there, but if you wanted to take any home you had to buy them! It was a huge apple! Went an saw how they made caramel apples, but while we were there their machine jammed, and didn’t work. We also saw how they made apple cider, by squeezing the apples into pulp! No one wore any gloves though! The we had some more cider, then we went home. It was a really fun day

The Big E
The Big E
On the 28/9/07 we went to a fair called the “ The Big E”. it’s the biggest fair in all of America! The Tricketts gave us free tickets and we went with them in their van! We left at 8am and it took us about ½ an hour!
We gave our tickets to the man at the front gate and went to see goats been showed . We then came to a building that inside it was a car made out of nothing but butter! It was really cleaver! There were lots of big building that people were selling things in! In one building we saw the biggest horses I have ever seen in my life! We saw a bull that had only one horn in the middle of its head! Just by it was the biggest horse in the world but you had to pay to see him so we just saw the tent he was in. We saw an elephant that was giving rides to people. Then Owen Trickett got lost! We were so worried as the Big E is so big! But he was found by the “Lost People” people and brought him to us! We then moved on to the Coliseum where we watched a Horse show! First we saw lots of horse and carriages and then we saw the “Canadian Mounted Police” Perform the “Musical Ride” It was so amazing!
Their horse must be highly trained! My favorite of it was the Battle Charge.
Its hard to explain all they did, but it was very wonderful! After them we saw more carriages, then we went to more buildings that people were selling stuff in. Then we went to the circus we went an hour early because we may not have got a seat otherwise, I could not get any photos or videos because it was copyrighted. First we saw the family on the high wire doing flips and jumps, there was a 6 year old girl doing it up there! Then on came the clown
He was a bit dumb. After him came the jugglers, one of them juggled 9 rings at the same time and then they both juggled fire to each other! As there was a ring of fire spinning on their leg. It made your heart pound I can tell you!
Next were the very cleaver dogs! Wow!!!!! Walking on a high wire!
Two dogs standing on their hind legs dancing together! Walking on their hind legs, Jumping over things, and much more! But the most amazing was the girl
Who could bend her body in all different ways, like touching her head to her back, while doing a hand stand! She must had very strong arms, as she turned around doing a hand stand on one arm!!!!!!! It was really amazing! Then we saw the acrobatics doing very cleaver things like jumping on to each other, and doing flips! Then it was the end! We went out and saw the Big E parade!
Patience and Benjamin Trickett were in it! Paul and John got lollies from it!
Went into a wild life tent that had animals that moved with motors in them.
Went into lots of 1700s houses that were there! Mum brought me a wooden flute. Saw another parade. Saw some sharks in a big cage! Went home!
We got home about 9.30pm! We had a great day! From Rachel

Pig Roast

23/9/07 We went to a pig roast . We were invited there by the Harris family because their Uncle was running it!
We should have got there at 12.30 but we got there late because we got a bit lost and we saw a tag sale… We got there and had for lunch, wild deer, pig , salad, corn- on -the -cob and lots of other good things , there was quite a few people there. A some people were playing soccer so John , Paul, Dad and I played it , Mum and Ruth sat in the shade and watched the game! We played all afternoon
And more and more people played us ! Making the game more fun! We got very hot as the sun was blazing down over head! We must have drunk a lot of water! As it grew later in the day people started going home so by the end it was only us and the Harris’s left playing making it rather hard! At about 4 or 5pm, we went home. We were very achy and slept rather well that night!
